Watch for Hwy 1 West and Pinkie Road Detour – April 24

Watch for Hwy 1 West and Pinkie Road Detour – April 24

Bridge construction to detour evening traffic

on Highway 1 West near Pinkie Road

beginning Monday

Due to the installation of girders on the new overpasses, a short portion of Highway 1 West will be closed at Pinkie Road nightly beginning Monday, April 24, weather permitting. Detours will be in effect for highway motorists from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Evening eastbound traffic will be detoured to the eastbound off-ramp and on to the new South Service Road. Motorists will return to the highway at Courtney Street. Southbound traffic heading east in the evenings will also be detoured on to the South Service Road.

Evening westbound traffic will be detoured to the westbound off-ramp. Motorists will then cross Pinkie Road to get back to the highway via the westbound on-ramp.

The installation of girders on the three overpasses is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting. The direction of lane closures may vary depending on the girders being installed.
