The Regina Bypass Open Tour: A Day of Family, Fun, BBQ and Big Machines

There’s just something special about sharing what you do every day with the people who matter most—your family. And that’s exactly what happened on Saturday, May 31, at the Regina Bypass Open Tour Family Day. It was more than just a fun day—it was a celebration of family, safety, teamwork, and community.

Our families came to the Bypass Facility, ready to explore the behind-the-scenes world of one of Saskatchewan’s largest infrastructure projects. The kids? Eyes wide with wonder. The parents? Proud to show off the incredible work they do to keep the Bypass running smoothly.

There was something for everyone. Little ones were buzzing with excitement as they climbed into the driver’s seat of massive machines, including a snowplow! They got to see, touch, and even pretend to drive the heavy equipment their parents use every day. The highlight of the day was honking the snowplow horn.

Prairie Smoke and Spice brought their food truck to the party and shared their world championship mouthwatering BBQ.

But beyond the fun, food, and photo ops, the heart of the day was all about connection.

Christophe Martin, General Manager of the Regina Bypass, put it best: “Events like this allow us to show our families the pride we take in our work and the lengths we go to ensure safety remains at the heart of everything we do.”

“Today we wanted to “thank you” to the families behind our people—those who support our team members every single day,” added Martin.

The day was filled with laughter, learning, and lots of proud smiles. It wasn’t just a tour—it was a reminder that when we come together as a work family, we build more than just roads. We build trust, teamwork, and a culture of care that stretches far beyond the job site.
