New Bypass Traffic Movements

As of October 25, 2018

The following traffic movements will be in effect, no later than November 30 weather permitting. They will remain in effect until the beginning of the 2019 construction season.

MAP – New Traffic Routes as of October 29


Highway 1 West

  • All lanes of traffic will be open by November 15
  • South bound off ramp to GTH will remain as it is now
  • Work will continue adjacent to the road – expect some reduced speeds

 

Highway 6

  • Both bridges will be open with two lanes of traffic on each bridge by November 7
  • Work will continue adjacent to the road – expect some reduced speeds

 

Highway 11

  • Both south bound lanes will be open to traffic by November 15
  • Both north bound lanes will be open to traffic by November 30
  • Work will continue adjacent to the road – expect some reduced speeds

 

Highway 33

  • All lanes of traffic will be open
  • Work will continue adjacent to the road – expect some reduced speeds

 

Dewdney Avenue (Opening Monday, October 29)

  • All lanes of traffic on the new Dewdney bridge will be open
  • When Dewdney re-opens the south bound lane from GTH to Highway 1 will be closed.
  • Access from GTH to Highway 1 will NOW be via Dewdney Avenue to Pinkie Road and south to the Highway
  • North bound traffic from GTH to Highway 1 West will remain as it is now
  • Work will continue adjacent to the road – expect some reduced speeds

 

Armour Road

  • All lanes of traffic will be open

 

9thAvenue North

  • Will be closed between Pinkie Road and Condie Road as of October 26

 

Other Bypass Notes

  • All bridge decks have been poured
  • 2019 work will include paving, sign placement, line painting, installing guard rails, street lights and seeding of grass
  • On schedule to open all portions of the Bypass to traffic by October 31, 2019
