Regina Bypass Traffic Update – as of Nov. 1
On Saturday, November 4, the westbound off-ramp and eastbound on-ramp from Highway 1 to the Pilot Butte overpass opens to traffic. This provides an additional access from westbound Highway 1 to the Emerald Park/White City business area, including Great Plains Industrial Park.
Please note westbound traffic on Highway 1 will not be able to access Pilot Butte from the overpass at this time. Access to Pilot from Highway 1 westbound is available from either the Highway 48 overpass or Gravel Pit Road.
Full opening of the Pilot Butte overpass is scheduled for 2018.
With the Regina Bypass now open from Balgonie to Highway 33/Arcola Avenue, you will also notice the following changes:
- The opening of the Pilot Butte bridge to crossing traffic and the North and South Service Roads.
- The closing of the median crossing at Great Plains Road.
- The closing of the median crossing at Gravel Pit Road.

Traffic Update:
Access to Emerald Park for Westbound Traffic
a) Traffic heading west can access Emerald Park via Highway 48 at White City.
b) Westbound drivers can gain access to Emerald Park by taking the North Service Road and crossing the Pilot Butte bridge to the South Service Road.
c) As of November 4, drivers will also be able to use the westbound Pilot Butte overpass off-ramp and the eastbound on-ramp to access the Emerald Park business area, including Great Plains Industrial Park.
Access to Emerald Park for Eastbound Traffic
a) There are no changes to Emerald Park access for eastbound traffic.
Access to Pilot Butte for Eastbound Traffic
a) Eastbound traffic can access Pilot Butte by using the Gravel Pit Road intersection and South Service Road to cross the Pilot Butte overpass bridge.
b) Eastbound traffic can access Pilot Butte by using the Great Plains Road intersection and South Service Road to cross the Pilot Butte overpass bridge.
c) Eastbound drivers can access Pilot Butte by using the North Service Road at Tower Road.
Access to Pilot Butte for Westbound Traffic
a) Drivers can access Pilot Butte via the White City overpass bridge and North Service Road.
b) Westbound traffic can turn right at Gravel Pit Road and use the North Service Road.
Access to Highway 1 West/Victoria Avenue from Pilot Butte
a) Drivers can access Highway 1 West/Victoria Avenue via the North Service Road and Gravel Pit Road.
Access to Highway 1 East from Pilot Butte
a) Eastbound traffic can cross the Pilot Butte overpass and use the South Service Road to access Highway 1 East.
Access to Highway 1 West from Redhead Equipment
a) Traffic heading west can cross the Pilot Butte bridge and turn left (west) at the North Service Road and use the Gravel Pit Road access.
